Why Vietnam?

Did you consider getting dental treatments in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong or Singapore?

Why not Vietnam?

Vietnam is often considered as a young player in healthcare tourism. The sector may be new compared with neighboring countries, but Vietnam has seen a substantial increase in the demand for heath services in recent years. Overall tourism in Vietnam has increased 68% between 2004 and 2009, reaching 4,253,740 arrivals in 2009 with a suspected doubling of healthcare tourism during that time.

With governmental efforts to open Vietnam’s markets as well as increased infrastructure development, Vietnam is attracting more people for medical purposes. With the appearance of new clinics and hospitals all over the country, many clinics have the opportunity to begin offering services with the latest and best technology.

One of Vietnam’s strong advantages is that foreign doctors with more than 5 years experience can be licensed to work.  This foster an international atmosphere and collaboration between local and overseas doctors, in contrast to other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Thailand or Indonesia where only local doctor practice.

In the dental sector, specialized clinics in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are offering top technology and services to their patients. Every very complicated mouth reconstruction or treatment can be performed in “international’’ clinics. Internationally renowned services such as Nobel Guide, Invisalign, Teeth in an hour, and CEREC are available. Most of the clinics also offer relatively inexpensive esthetic or cosmetic treatments, such as Teeth Whitening, which are not usually covered by insurance companies. It is easy to find internationally trained doctors who offer services in English, French, Japanese and Vietnamese, among other languages.

Vietnam attracts many tourists with its various attractions. From diving, to cruises, to incredible landscapes, there are many opportunities for tourists of all ages to combine healthcare with an incredible vacation.  With more tourism, Vietnam is quickly strengthening its position as a destination to combine holiday and health treatment.
